1960 Concordia 39 Yawl

Cataumet, Massachusetts

$139,500

WESTRAY is Concordia yawl #79, built by Abeking & Rasmussen in 1960 and featuring such critical improvements as laminated frames, a masthead rig, and no running backstays.  She has been maintained and continuously upgraded for over thirty years by Ballentine's Boat Shop in Cataumet, MA, and a recent survey and fastener inspection attests to her nearly perfect structural and cosmetic condition.

For those unfamiliar with Ballantine's Boat Shop, there is "perfect condition" and then there is "Ballantine's Condition,"  which is better.    Steve, Amy, and their crew are as committed to WESTRAY's care and maintenance as her owner is, and that dedication is apparent over every square inch of WESTRY both inside and out.    Seeing is believing, and for anyone who loves Concordia Yawls, she is a testament to what's possible.

WESTRAY has been regularly raced and sailed offshore, including a transatlantic passage to Norway, a Halifax race, and most recently a Bermuda Race.  The demands of these regattas and passages are such that nothing short of 100% is acceptable when it comes to structural integrity and up to date equipment.

The list of improvements and upgrades WESTRAY has received in recent years is long and nearly complete – and the cost of implementing these features is an important consideration for anyone who might be considering the purchase of a Concordia Yawl:

-Elongated metal composite mast step (being repainted 2021)

-Ballast keel removed and installation of new Monel keel bolts

            -Hull fastener inspection 2020

-Rudder replaced, along with gudgeons and pintles.

-Decks and house-top recovered with Dynel/Epoxy

-Compliant holding tank with macerator pump and Y-valve for head.

-Fully integrated and up to date electronics including autopilot and AIS

-Masthead wiring including wind instruments and offshore tri-color.
